A ready-made bathroom vanity makes sense when its fixed size, layout and finish already suit your room. A custom vanity is worth considering when a specific requirement remains unmet: an unusual width, a preferred profile, a different depth or a particular storage layout.
That distinction matters more than the label “premium”. If a standard model does the job, you may have no practical reason to customise. If it leaves you compromising on something you use every morning, Bespoke deserves a closer look.
This guide compares ready-made and custom bathroom vanities in Singapore using Las Vela’s Y-series and Bespoke options, including a common dilemma: wanting a rounded design when you only have room for a 500 mm cabinet.
Ready-made or custom: what actually changes?
Here, “ready-made” means a model offered in specified sizes and finishes. It does not mean the item is currently in stock or available for immediate installation. Confirm availability and scheduling for either route.
| Your decision | Ready-made Y-series | Bespoke |
|---|---|---|
| Dimensions | Choose from the model’s listed sizes. | Discuss dimensions for your space, subject to the proposed configuration. |
| Design | Choose an available model and finish; its design is fixed. | Discuss the profile, cabinet layout, countertop and finish together. |
| Price comparison | Start with the selected size and its listed product price. | Request a quote for the agreed specification. |
| Fit | Check the complete unit against your room and plumbing. | Confirm the design and site measurements before fabrication. |
| Timing | Confirm stock, delivery and installation separately. | Confirm design approval, production, delivery and installation separately. |
The useful question is: what would customisation solve in your bathroom? Name that requirement before comparing quotes.
Which Las Vela sizes are ready-made?
The Y-series offers a choice of standard models. Y-series vanities cannot be customised. Choosing another listed width or finish is different from changing the cabinet’s dimensions or design.
| Model | Widths | Custom? |
|---|---|---|
| Y-32 | 600, 700 and 800 mm | No |
| Y-40 | 500, 600 and 700 mm | No |
| Y-49 | 600, 700 and 800 mm | No |
| Bespoke | Up to 1,800 mm | By quote |
Bespoke dimensions and configurations require a quotation and final confirmation.
For a 500 mm option, shortlist Y-40. For an 800 mm standard model, compare Y-32 and Y-49. In every case, check depth, basin projection, door movement and pipe positions as well as width.

Three examples: when would Bespoke earn its place?
These are planning examples to help you choose, rather than completed customer projects.
1. “I want a rounded look, but my available width is 500 mm.”
Y-32’s rounded styling may catch your eye, but it is not available in 500 mm. It cannot be resized. If Y-40’s standard design suits you, that is a ready-made option to assess. If the rounded look is essential, ask about a Bespoke Single Profile configuration for your measurements. The team must confirm the proposed shape, basin and usable space.

2. “A standard 600 mm vanity fits, and I like the finish.”
Compare the Y-32, Y-40 and Y-49 configurations before paying for custom work. Check how the cabinet opens, what storage remains around the plumbing, and which basin and mirror are supplied. If those details meet your needs, a ready-made model can be a considered choice.
3. “The width fits, but the depth or internal layout does not.”
A cabinet can be the right width and still interfere with a door or place storage where the waste pipe needs to run. Discuss Bespoke when adjusting the configuration could solve that conflict. Custom manufacture still needs an accurate site assessment; it cannot make an unsuitable wall or plumbing arrangement disappear.

Compare the complete quote, not just the starting price
For a concrete starting point, the catalogue lists the 600 mm Y-32 at S$498 and a listed 600 mm Bespoke configuration at S$1,350, checked on 29 October 2026. These are different product specifications, not equivalent installed packages. An arbitrary custom size or layout needs its own quote.
A useful comparison names the same scope on both sides. Confirm the cabinet dimensions and finish, basin or countertop, mirror, tap and waste fittings. Then separate delivery, installation, removal of the old unit and any plumbing alterations.
For Bespoke, ask for the agreed dimensions, layout and finish to appear in the quotation or drawing. Clarify which details you must approve and when changes become chargeable. For ready-made, confirm the exact model and size being supplied.
Use our bathroom vanity price guide for listed product examples. A starting price is not an all-in installation quote, and a custom configuration should be priced on its own specification.
Prepare a short brief before you enquire
- Measure the space: usable width and maximum depth, including the basin’s projection.
- Show the connections: photograph the existing cabinet interior, pipes and surrounding bathroom.
- Name your priorities: rounded profile, drawers, a particular finish, more countertop space or another specific need.
- Share your budget and timing: include the services you need and any renovation deadline.

Ready-made and custom vanity questions
Can I customise a Y-32, Y-40 or Y-49?
No. Choose from each model’s listed sizes and finishes. For changed dimensions, profiles or layouts, discuss Bespoke as a separate product.
Does custom mean I should choose the largest vanity possible?
No. Start with comfortable movement, opening space and the storage you need. A longer cabinet is useful only if the complete bathroom layout supports it.
Can I order from my own measurements?
Your measurements help start the conversation. Before committing, agree who verifies the final dimensions, plumbing compatibility and installation requirements, especially for a made-to-measure design.
